For Arthro Gallery, the ethical origin of specimens is a priority. We adhere to a system where collecting insects helps protect wildlife. Most of our specimens are grown on special farms around the world. This helps preserve wildlife: local residents receive income from breeding insects, which encourages them to protect forests from deforestation. After the natural completion of the insect life cycle, they are collected for collections and art.
- Against deforestation: We work with local communities in tropical regions. Legal butterfly collection provides residents with an alternative income to deforestation for industrial purposes. Thanks to this, the living rainforest maintains its economic value for local people.
- Scientific approach: Collection is done manually and selectively. We remove mainly males (up to 95%), which does not affect reproduction and population size in the wild.
- Supporting biodiversity: A portion of sales goes toward programs to preserve the natural environment and protect insects.
Yes, all of our butterflies, beetles, and spiders are real biological specimens that have undergone professional preservation. Insects have an exoskeleton made of chitin, which, with proper care, can last for decades without losing shape or color.
In some large species (such as Morpho or peacock butterflies), the abdomen is intentionally removed during the preparation process. This is done because it contains natural oils that can leach out over time and stain the wings.
If the title says "replica," it means a high-quality image of a rare species, printed on fine art paper and laser-cut. We offer these for species that are endangered or too expensive to reproduce in their original form.
Care and decoration
Our works are durable if you follow two rules: keep them out of direct sunlight (to avoid fading) and avoid high humidity. Exhibits under glass are protected from dust and pests.
Yes, all our frames are equipped with special fasteners on the back. You will receive a completely finished art object that can be placed in the interior.
Inside the frames, the insects are securely fixed. Even if the frame is shaken or accidentally dropped (from a small height), the specimen will remain in place. However, exhibits without frames are extremely fragile and require extreme care when handling.
No, after the professional drying and preservation process, the insects have no odor.
The best prevention is a sealed frame with glass. If you collect insects on pins in boxes, it is recommended to inspect them annually and store the collection in a dry place. Traditionally, naphthalene is used (in closed collection boxes). For paintings in frames under glass, additional chemicals are not needed.
Of course! Our works are often purchased for schools, universities and private offices. We can add a label with the scientific name and place of origin to each specimen upon your request.
Ordering and delivery
We ship orders worldwide via Priority International Mail with tracking number. Estimated cost depends on weight and packaging:
- Collectibles ($15): Small packages of unopened insects in envelopes or compact boxes.
- Entomological Frames ($25+): Standard orders with butterflies or beetles in the design. Price may increase depending on the number and size of frames.
- Oversized and Heavy Shipments ($100+): Bulky packages such as stuffed birds (owls), large crustaceans (lobsters), or interior taxidermy arrangements.
Please note: The exact shipping cost will be calculated and confirmed by the administrator after assessing the weight of your package.
The buyer is responsible for any duties, taxes or charges that may be imposed in the country of destination. We also recommend that you check in advance whether the import of specific insect species is permitted by the laws of your country.
Processing and secure packaging take 1 to 3 business days .
For unique and expensive items we use the "single copy" system. For mass items (inexpensive beetles or butterflies) the photo is typical, but we guarantee that the sample you choose will correspond to the declared quality and size. Please note: the shade may vary slightly due to monitor settings.
We have extensive experience in packaging fragile goods. Each order is securely protected with several layers of shock-absorbing materials. We guarantee that the goods will reach you intact and safe.
Yes! If you are looking for a specific look or want a special composition in a specific frame, write to us. We will try to find the right copy and create a unique work for you.
The main method is PayPal . You don't need to have an account in the system: you can safely pay for your purchase directly with your credit or debit card.
Yes, we accept payments via Payoneer or direct bank transfer. Please contact us before placing your order for details.
After placing an order, the product is reserved for you for 3 days . If payment is not received within this period, the order will be canceled.
Guarantees and returns
We take full responsibility. If the item is damaged in transit or lost in the mail, we will send a replacement free of charge or refund the full cost.
Although such cases are very rare, we take full responsibility for the transportation. If you find any damage, please contact us within 48 hours of receipt, including a photo.
- Minor damage: (e.g., a leg or antennae has come off), we will provide self-repair instructions and offer a partial refund as compensation.
- Serious damage: We will fully replace the product or refund your money.
You can return the item within 30 days in its original condition (return shipping costs are paid by the buyer). Cancellation is not possible if the item has already been sent to the postal service.
Cancellations and refunds are not possible once the shipment has already been physically delivered to the postal service.
